Make Petascale Systems a Reality - Join the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility Team

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to develop world-class solutions for powerful petascale computational systems? We're inviting outstanding candidates to apply for a variety of open positions in the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) new supercomputing facility at Argonne National Laboratory.

The Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) offers resources that make computationally intensive projects of the largest scale possible. ALCF staff members operate this facility for DOE, providing a reliable and efficient computational environment with many advanced software capabilities. DOE selects major ALCF projects through the Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) program.

In 2008, the facility is deploying the first of several planned systems for petascale computations, drawing on deep experience in high-performance systems and software, operation of one of the earliest IBM Blue Gene/L systems, and leadership of the highly successful Blue Gene Consortium.

Advanced computers are revolutionizing our ability to address complex problems in science and engineering. To stimulate research in computational science, Argonne has inaugurated an exciting new Computational Postdoctoral Fellowship program for outstanding new Ph.D.s. [More Information]
