Researchers from industry, academia, and the government found more ways than ever to conduct transformative science at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) in 2010. Both familiar initiatives and innovative new programs at the ALCF are serving a growing, global user community with a wide range of computing needs.

The just-released 2010 ALCF Annual Report highlights the year's key science accomplishments, spotlights ALCF experts who work hand-in-hand with the researchers, and provides a peek at the next-generation, 10-petaflops IBM Blue Gene/Q supercomputer, named Mira, to be delivered in 2012. Mira is a stepping-stone to exascale-class computers that will be faster than petascale-class computers by a factor of a thousand.
