Argonne Staff Engaged in SC09 Activities

Argonne National Laboratory staff will be presenting a wide variety of papers, workshops, Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) sessions, tutorials, and posters at SC09 on November 14-20 in Portland, OR.

Papers will cover such topics as Terascale Data Organization for Discovering Multivariate Climatic Trends, a Configurable Algorithm for Parallel Image-Compositing Applications, and I/O Performance Challenges at Leadership Scale.

Workshops will focus on Many-Task Computing on Grids and Supercomputers (MTAGS), Grid Computing Environments (GCE) 2009, and Using Clouds for Parallel Computations in Systems Biology.

BOF sessions will promote stimulating discussions on Python for High Performance and Scientific Computing; MPICH: A High-Performance, Open-Source MPI Implementation; HPC Saving the Planet, One Ton of CO2 at a Time; International Exascale Software Program; and CIFTS: A Coordinated Infrastructure for Fault-Tolerant Systems.

Tutorials will educate attendees on Python for High Performance and Scientific Computing, Parallel I/O in Practice, Configuring and Deploying GridFTP for Managing Data Movement in Grid/HPC Environments, Designing High-End Computing Systems with InfiniBand and 10-Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand and 10-Gigabit Ethernet for Dummies, Application Supercomputing and the Many-Core Paradigm Shift, and Advanced MPI.
