Argonne signs MOU with Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH

Argonne (UChicago Argonne, LLC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (Jülich Research Centre) located in Jülich, Germany.  The MOU was signed to promote scientific and technological cooperation in the field of supercomputing, especially in exascale supercomputing.

The two institutions will collaborate on energy efficient supercomputing; exascale hardware evaluation and development; scalable input/output and storage; administration and management of peta- and exascale supercomputer facilities; methods and tools for scalable parallel programming; and development, optimization and scaling of scientific applications.

Both institutions will submit joint proposals for future international funding calls in the fields of exascale computing and engineering and fusion science. UChicago Argonne, LLC and Jülich Research Centre will organize scientific workshops and training events along with establishing a steering committee to discuss the progress of the cooperation.
