This annual workshop is geared especially for current INCITE and discretionary projects that have already scaled to multiple racks of Blue Gene/P*. With the arrival of Mira, the ALCF’s 10-petaflops Blue Gene/Q, this year’s workshop will focus on issues of scaling to the next-gen system.

Leap to Petascale is timed to coincide with efforts of those preparing to submit proposals for a 2013 INCITE award (the INCITE open call runs April 11 – June 27). As such, a significant portion of workshop time will be devoted to hands-on tuning of applications with one-on-one assistance from our skilled performance engineers and computational scientists. Special system reservations will provide the opportunity for full-scale runs.

*We appreciate your interest in our workshop--Leap to Petascale: Making the Move to Mira. This workshop is geared for HPC users who have hit significant scaling milestones. ALCF requires that attendees have already scaled their code to a minimum of 1/2 rack of Intrepid (Blue Gene/P) or 1000+ cores on other systems. If you believe you are a good candidate for scaling and do not meet this minimum requirement, ALCF will review your request before accepting your application.
