Ram is a Postdoctoral Appointee at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF). His research centers on adaptive routing algorithms and leveraging emerging technologies like Software-Defined Networking (SDN) to enhance interconnect performance.

He is also interested in topology aware collective algorithm design and in applying machine learning to optimize routing and allocation strategies in high-performance computing systems.

He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida State University under the supervision of Dr. Xin Yuan. His dissertation explored the design and evaluation of adaptive routing algorithms for large-scale interconnect networks such as Dragonfly networks. During his Ph.D., he worked as a research aide at ALCF investigating congestion signatures and developing mitigation techniques for large-scale interconnect networks.
