ALCF Student Opportunities

2019 CAPS camp

Student researchers are an integral part of the ALCF team. Every year, we host a number of students ranging from undergraduates to Ph.D. candidates to work alongside staff mentors on real-world research projects, gaining hands-on experience with some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.

Through opportunities like DOE’s Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program and Argonne’s Student Research Participation (SRP) Program, ALCF students contribute to a wide range of projects, including work in HPC system administration, exascale applications, AI for science, computational science, data visualization, scientific software, workflow development, and performance engineering.

Undergraduate Programs

Over 100 students each year participate in the various internship opportunities Argonne offers. We also hire undergraduate students for part-time and temporary assignments to provide technical support to our scientists and engineers.

Summer Camps

Summer camps give students the opportunity to work alongside Argonne scientists and engineers at our facilities, where they are exposed to the 21st-century skills and dispositions that make Argonne a center for innovation.
