IBM Data Server Manager in a Diverse Environment at ALCF

Ben Lenard
Seminar

In most corporate organizations, Windows is the dominant platform for developers, DBAs, system administrators and end-users. At Argonne National Laboratory, the desktop operating systems include Mac OS X, SLES, Ubuntu, RHEL, Debian and Windows. That being said, I arrived in an environment where developers and users either solely used the DB2 CLI, or they were forced into running Windows within a VM so that they can use IBM Data Studio. IBM Data Server Manager (DSM) has allowed me to engage the developers and users so that we can get the most benefit out of our DB2 LUW investment while producing better code. DSM has allowed me to create a self-service environment so that developers can understand their code.

Ben will be presenting a demo of DSM from 1:00pm to 1:30pm for interested users.
