Learning how to read genomes

Alice McHardy
Seminar

Technological advances have enabled whole genome sequencing of organisms from a wide range of taxa and surveys of genome-wide genetic diversity for microbial, viral and eukaryotic populations. A major challenge is the development of computational methods for analysis of these novel large-scale data sets. Such methods promise to deliver a more detailed understanding of biological processes with relevance for medical, biotechnological, agricultural and environmental applications. I will present an overview of the group
