Polaris is scheduled to be upgraded the week of January 5, 2026. We expect this work to take 2-3 days, resulting in a multi-day outage.

The main components to be updated in the upgrade include:

-Cray Programming Environment

-Slingshot Host Stack client driver

-User Services Software (PALS)

-NVIDIA drivers and CUDA

-Lustre client

-PBS resource manager
